A tattoo from the skin of a French prisoner thought to be a sailor. This piece came from a larger piece that was damaged in transport and sectioned into individual tattoos. Dating to the early 1900’s the prisoner was thought to be a sailor as the tattoos were mainly portraits of people. A Scottish man, gypsy lady, Prussian guard and such.

This tattoo (not the jar) stands at roughly 12cm tall.
